About Daisy Mae

Daisy Mae is a resilient and affectionate 2-year-old, 35lb spayed female pittie mix who has overcome a difficult past. Rescued from a situation of abuse and neglect, she weighed only 18 lbs at six months old. It took time for her to learn that gentleness means love, but today, Daisy Mae is a happy, playful, and loving dog eager to find a family to cherish her. She enjoys car rides, playing with heavy chew toys, and being close to her people. While she may be a bit shy when meeting new people, she quickly warms up and enjoys attention once she feels secure.

Ideal Home

Daisy Mae adores children of all ages and is gentle and loving with them. She has a moderate energy level, enjoying walks and playtime but also knowing how to relax. While she can be a bit bossy during play and benefits from slow introductions with other dogs, she has interacted well with dogs between 35-70 lbs and does best with balanced or confident canine companions. She doesn't require another dog in the home and would be a wonderful only pet, or could thrive with a calm, confident dog if slow introductions are managed carefully.

Ongoing Health

Daisy Mae is in great health. She does have slightly runny eyes, suspected to be due to environmental allergies that flare up seasonally, particularly during rainy periods. This requires only occasional gentle cleaning and awareness of seasonal changes.

Training & Support

Daisy Mae is fully house-trained and crate-trained. Due to past food insecurity, she prefers to eat and enjoy treats in her crate to feel safe. While she has never shown guarding behavior towards people, she may bark at other dogs passing by while she's eating. She thrives with a calm environment and personal space during mealtimes. She is great on leash and sleeps soundly through the night.
