Meet Gideon, or Gidz as we affectionately call him! This 4-year-old Black Mouth Cur is a loyal, adventurous soul who truly appreciates his favorite people. If you're dreaming of a hiking buddy, a road trip co-pilot, or simply a devoted sidekick, Gideon is your guy!

Gideon absolutely thrives when exploring the great outdoors. Whether it's conquering a new hiking trail, taking a refreshing dip in the water, hitting the pavement for a run, or just cruising along in the car, Gideon's happiness peaks when he's sharing adventures with his special human.

He had a tough start in life, experiencing abuse as a puppy, but that hasn't dimmed his zest for life. Once he forms a bond, he's incredibly loyal and devoted. He's proven to be friendly with people and children, and he enjoys meeting new faces. Gideon is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows his basic commands. He's an active, intelligent boy who is eager to explore!

Ideal Home

Gideon would be happiest in an active home that loves outdoor adventures and can offer him structure, consistency, and plenty of opportunities for physical and mental exercise. He would do best as the only dog, where he can receive all the love and attention. A family willing to earn his trust will be rewarded with an incredibly loyal companion.

Gideon is house-trained and crate-trained. He knows basic commands. He has done well meeting new people and animals when out and about, but he prefers a home where he can have his own space and routine.
