Meet Cotton Ball… a soft heart learning to feel safe 🤍🐾. This gentle, sensitive girl is just beginning to discover what love really feels like. She came from a difficult hoarding situation where she didn’t receive the care or attention she deserved. She arrived very underweight, but with good food, patience, and kindness, she’s slowly gaining strength and confidence every single day. Cotton is a Lab retriever mix, weighing 32lbs, with an estimated birthday of 3/26/2022.
This sweet soul can be a little shy when you first meet her, and that’s okay. The world is still a big, new place for Cotton, and she’s looking for someone who understands that trust takes time. But when she starts to feel safe, you’ll see it… the soft eyes, the quiet tail wags, the gentle presence that just wants to be near you.

Cotton would do best in a calm, loving home where life moves at a slower pace and she can continue to blossom in her own time. She’s not the kind of dog who will rush into your arms right away, but she is the kind who will build something deeper, a quiet, loyal bond that’s truly special.

Training & Support
Cotton Ball is kennel and potty trained. She is also dog friendly. All she needs is someone with a kind heart, a little patience, and the willingness to let her go at her own pace.

- Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
- We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state.
- Our adoption fees are based on the vetting we put into each dog.
- Listed breed and age are based on a best guess estimation by rescue and veterinary staff.
- Our adopters are eligible to receive 50% off training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training for programs booked within 30 days of adoption, and 25% off programs booked within 60-90 days of adoption.
- All of our adopters are invited to join our “Alum Pupdates” Facebook group, to share their story and their adorable pup with fellow Sunnyside Street Dogs adopters!
Transportation
Cotton Ball is located in Houston, Texas. Transport is included in the adoption fee. Pickup locations of transported dogs may vary, including to nearby towns or states.
