Matilda

Matilda is a 1-year-old, 9-pound Chihuahua with the sweetest heart. When you first meet her, Matilda may be a little timid. New people and new places can feel overwhelming, so her first instinct is to quietly retreat. But give her a little time and you'll watch something magical happen. The cautious little girl who once hid becomes your loyal shadow. She'll curl up under the covers in bed with you, happily romp around the yard with her dog friends, and greet you with the sweetest little face that says, "I'm so glad you're mine." In foster care, it took Matilda a couple of weeks to realize life could actually be fun. Once she figured it out, there was no looking back! She now loves playing with the other dogs and has discovered that happiness is even better when it's shared. Matilda isn't looking for someone to rescue her. She's looking for someone who understands that trust is a gift-not something that's rushed. If you're the kind of person who finds joy in watching a shy dog blossom, in celebrating the first tail wag, the first cuddle, and the first time she chooses you, then Matilda may be the missing piece you've been searching for. Ideal Home

Matilda is looking for a quieter, more rural home where she won't be overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of city life. Older, respectful children would be just fine.

Training & Support

Matilda is house-trained (outside or pee pads). She is wonderful with other dogs, gentle, and never a biter, even when she's scared. She is easygoing, affectionate, and incredibly sweet. She is happy sleeping under the covers with her favorite person.
