Meet Otis! This handsome 2-year-old, 50-pound American Staffordshire Terrier mix is neutered, fully vaccinated, and ready for his forever home. Otis was once adopted as a puppy, but sadly ended up back in a shelter due to a severe skin condition. Thankfully, his foster family has been amazing, and he's now thriving with a beautiful, shiny coat he's incredibly proud of! Otis is the epitome of resilience and joy – sweet, goofy, and a true people-lover. If you dare to stop petting him before he's ready, expect a gentle paw tap as a polite, but firm, reminder to continue. He's very responsive to positive reinforcement and genuinely wants to please his humans.
Ideal Home
Otis is a social butterfly with other dogs and would love a canine sibling. He enjoys playing and is respectful of dogs who need their space. He'd do best in a moderately active home that also appreciates cuddle sessions. Due to his size and enthusiasm, he would likely do best with dog-savvy older children, as we're unsure how he'd do with cats or younger kids.
Ongoing Health
Otis has recovered wonderfully from a past skin condition and is now in great health.
Training & Support
Otis is fully house-trained and potty-trained. He's also crate-trained and sleeps well in his crate overnight, especially with a Kong. He has shown no signs of separation anxiety, destructive behavior, food aggression, or resource guarding. He is fed separately to ensure a calm environment. He walks nicely on a leash, though he can pull a bit with excitement at the very start.
