Rye is estimated to be 2 years old and weighs 56 lbs. He's a happy, affectionate, and goofy boy who's eager to please and loves to be close to his people. Rye greets everyone like a best friend and lives each day with enthusiasm. He can get a little jumpy when excited, but he's learning to sit for praise. Rye is social and polite with other dogs, doing best with calm, confident companions, especially females. He was curious but polite with a resident cat and is considered cat-tolerant with slow introductions. Rye adores children and is gentle and affectionate, though he may need guidance to manage his excitement around younger kids. He's a lover boy, goofball, and adventure buddy all rolled into one, ready to chase away the blues!

Ideal Home

Rye will thrive with an adopter who enjoys playtime, walks, and some structure. A house with a yard would be a dream come true, but he could also adapt to apartment living with plenty of exercise and enrichment.

Ongoing Health

Rye is up to date on all vetting, including vaccinations, deworming, flea and heartworm prevention, and is microchipped.

Training & Support

Rye needs some polishing on his leash skills, as he can be a bit all over the place when walking. However, he listens well to corrections and loves treats, making him a great candidate for training success.

Transporation

Rye is located in Texas and can be transported nationwide using our rescue's USDA-certified transport system. Drop-off locations are available in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs.
