Nessie

Nessie is an outgoing beauty who loves everyone! She came to our Connecticut rescue after being found as a stray. When her owner did not claim her, Nessie made the trip North to start a new life. She appears to be a stunning mix of Doberman and Husky, with black and white coloring, a fluffy plume tail, and soulful brown eyes. Nessie is a medium-sized dog, weighing a healthy 50 pounds. Her coat is short and smooth, making her easy to groom.

Nessie can be shy at first, but she warms up quickly and becomes extremely affectionate, relishing human touch. While not as high-energy as some Huskies, this one-year-old youngster does need a fair amount of exercise and mental stimulation. She is smart and has already passed many Canine Good Citizenship tests, making her a breeze to train. Obedience work will go a long way to keep her challenged, calm, and balanced.

Ideal Home

Nessie would thrive in an active adult household or a family with older children who understand the needs of a rescue dog. She wants to be part of the family and participate in activities, making her an ideal running or hiking companion. She is an excellent traveler and would love to join her people on camping or road trips. She is not a dog to be relegated to the backyard, as boredom and frustration can lead to undesirable consequences.

Ongoing Health

Nessie is in optimal health. She has been recently spayed, received routine vaccinations, deworming, and health screenings.

Training & Support

Nessie has good house manners and is house-trained and crate-trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident during her transition to a new home.
