Frankie (fka River)

Frankie, a handsome Pitbull Terrier born around January 7, 2021, is a truly special boy weighing in at 70 lbs. He was found tied up in a park and, after his companion was adopted, Frankie remained, waiting for his second chance. Thankfully, a foster stepped up, and Frankie's freedom ride to a loving temporary home happened on January 7, 2023. He's a smart and food-motivated pup who aims to please. Frankie is housebroken and crate trained, and he absolutely adores his crate, often stashing treats inside for safekeeping. While he's still mastering leash manners, he's a medium-energy companion who enjoys a good couch snuggle after some playtime. His favorite activities include bird-watching from the window, cuddling, playing with his beloved stuffed dragon, and, of course, eating! He’s particularly fond of a stuffed Kong or chew bone.

Ideal Home

Frankie would thrive in a home where someone is around often, as he loves to be by his humans' side and even sleeps with them at night. He'd do best with adults and older children and would prefer to be the only pet, with the exception of perhaps a fish. He wants to be the center of your world and shower you with love.

Ongoing Health

Frankie is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, dewormed, and microchipped. He is on monthly preventatives and eats premium grain-free dry dog food.

Training & Support

Frankie is working on his leash pulling and can be a bit reactive with other dogs, so continued training and socialization will be key. His foster mom notes that he can be a bit dominant with other dogs and is submissive with people. Patience will be important as he works through some anxiety.
