About Jackie

Woof! My name is Jackie, but my humans call me Jaxxy. I'm a 75-pound, 3-year-old chocolate lab, and let me tell you, I'm the best dog you'll ever meet. I'm a total Velcro dog, which means I stick to my people like glue. I just love being with them, whether it's snuggling on the couch or following them from room to room. I could curl up next to them all day, and honestly, I probably would if they let me! I'm a smart girl, too. I know how to sit for my favorite treats, and I'll do it every time you clip on my leash – it means adventure is coming! My humans say I'm super food-motivated, which is probably why learning new things is so easy for me. I'm also a pro at car rides and chilling in my kennel. But here's the thing about being this smart: I need to stay busy! If I get bored, well, let's just say things can get interesting. I might decide to see what's on the counter, or maybe explore what's inside a drawer or cabinet. My humans think I might have some shepherd or Malinois in me, and I definitely have a keen sense for what's happening outside. Amazon, the mailman, or even the neighbors – I'll let everyone know they're around! I do have a bit of a prey drive, so smaller critters aren't really my thing. But I'm great with dogs my size or bigger. I've also had lots of fun with the school-aged kids in my neighborhood. Lately, I've discovered the joy of toys! Fetch is amazing, and a good chew bone can keep me entertained for a while. My humans also mention something about a tall fence. Apparently, I'm quite good at jumping it when I want to make new friends. It's just my friendly nature! Even though I love walks and exploring, my absolute favorite thing is still being right there next to my humans, wherever they are. I'm a super-sweet girl, and I can't wait to find my forever home where I can be their shadow.

Ideal Home

A home with a tall fence is a must, as I've been known to jump it when I want to make new friends. I also need to stay busy to avoid boredom, and smaller critters are not my thing due to my prey drive.

Training & Support

I am super food-motivated, which makes learning new things easy! I do need to be kept busy to prevent boredom-related behaviors like counter-surfing or exploring drawers. I am also a vocal dog when it comes to alerting you to visitors.
