Trix is an 8-month-old, spayed female Pitbull mix who weighs about 35 pounds. She's a shy girl with the sweetest, smartest soul, currently in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas. Trix and her brother were surrendered to a shelter, and while her brother found his home, Trix needed extra time in foster care to build her confidence. She was significantly undersocialized early in life, and her baseline is fear of humans. However, she has never shown any reactivity like growling, barking, lunging, nipping, or biting. When unsure, she simply looks for a safe place to hide. She is gentle, just scared, and very quiet, but incredibly observant. Trix picks things up quickly and is very smart – she figured out a doggy door within days! With patience and intentional time spent building trust, she grows more comfortable and will eventually surprise you by playing with toys, running with other dogs, and even cuddling on the couch or sleeping in bed with her humans.
Ideal Home
Trix will need a home where someone is around more often than not, as she is still a puppy and building trust takes time and consistency. She is not a ready-made confident dog but a diamond in the rough who will require patience, compassion, and commitment.
