About Trix

Trix is an 8-month-old, 35-pound Pitbull mix with the sweetest, smartest soul. She was surrendered to a shelter with her brother, and while he has found his home, Trix needed a little extra time in foster care to build her confidence. She's a shy girl who was undersocialized early in life, making her baseline fear of humans. However, she's never shown any reactivity; when unsure, she simply looks for a safe place to hide. Trix is gentle and incredibly observant, picking things up quickly. She figured out the doggy door in just a couple of days and is always learning. With patience and trust-building, she begins to soften, eventually playing with toys, running with other dogs, and even cuddling with her humans.

Ideal Home

Trix needs a home where someone is around more often than not, as she is still a puppy and building trust takes time and consistency. She is not a ready-made confident dog and requires patience, compassion, and commitment. She would likely thrive with a confident canine companion to learn from, but adopters without another dog should have a thoughtful plan for socialization and confidence building. She has been around children and is shy at first. Her history with cats is unknown.

Ongoing Health

Trix is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

Trix is housebroken, loves her crate, and is learning to walk on a leash. She is very quiet. As she is still building confidence, she will need continued patience and positive reinforcement.
