Peanut

Meet Peanut, a one-year-old Weimaraner mix with a quiet charm and a personality all his own! This handsome chocolate brown boy with soft floppy ears and stunning amber eyes is a true cuddle bug who adores human companionship. Peanut is house-trained and crate-trained, comfortable spending 4-8 hours in his crate when you're away. He gets along with other dogs in the 30-70 pound range but can be a bit too enthusiastic with his play style and may grumble if his nap is disturbed. He's great with older children, but younger kids or fast-moving activities can cause him to jump, so supervision is key.

Ideal Home

Peanut would thrive in a home where he can enjoy plenty of couch naps and quiet companionship. He does best with older children and would appreciate a home that understands his need for gentle play and a bit of personal space when he's resting.

Ongoing Health

Peanut has a sensitive stomach and does best on a low-ingredient diet, including food, treats, and chews.

Training & Support

Peanut is a smart boy who knows "get in your box" and "no," and is learning "sit" and "shake." He pulls on the leash and would benefit from continued training, especially around his enthusiasm for runners or ball-playing children at parks. He's working on not jumping up when excited.

Transporation

Peanut is located at our rescue in Northern NJ. He is available for multi-day transport to his new home and will settle in with time after initial vocalizations.
