About Grover Chillington

Introducing Grover Chillington!

Grover's journey began at a high-kill shelter in Houston, where he was sadly placed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, a wonderful foster family stepped in, recognizing his incredible potential, and we are so grateful they did because Grover is pure perfection!

He truly embodies the word "chill." Initially, his calm demeanor led the shelter to believe he was around 6 years old. However, multiple veterinarians now estimate he's likely between 2-3 years old, and definitely no older than 3. At approximately 48 pounds, he's the perfect medium size – a very good boy with an old soul.

Grover loves being part of his family's activities, whether it's relaxing in the backyard, joining for a neighborhood stroll, or claiming the coziest spot for a nap. He enjoys exploring the outdoors but isn't looking for a high-energy lifestyle. A few daily walks and quality time with his people are all he needs to be happy. His foster family lives on a farm, and even with the freedom to roam, Grover always stays within sight of his foster dad. He's as well-behaved off-leash as he is on.

He is fully house-trained and has excellent indoor manners. Grover settles in nicely, gets along with everyone he meets, is not destructive, and appreciates a comfortable bed after a day of adventures. His ideal forever home would offer plenty of affection, a soft place to sleep, and people who cherish having a devoted canine companion by their side. He can be a bit shy initially, but within minutes, he'll be rolling over for belly rubs.

Grover has done well with other dogs and farm animals and enjoys making new friends. His gentle, friendly nature quickly wins over people and animals alike with his charming personality. We suspect he might be a hound/cattle dog mix, but we're not entirely sure. He's not a big barker and has a lower energy level, making him a true unicorn if those are indeed his breeds!

Grover is currently finishing heartworm treatment and will be ready to travel to his forever home in July. He is truly the easiest, most loving guy around. Whoever adopts him will be incredibly lucky, as he is simply impossible not to love.
