Meet Michelle! This sweet, 3-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix is around 48 pounds and is ready to bring her goofy charm to a loving home. Rescued from a high-kill shelter, Michelle is eager to embrace her second chance at happiness. She's a social butterfly with a heart full of affection, especially for her canine companions. Michelle loves to play and nap with her foster siblings, and while she can get a little enthusiastic during play, she's quick to read their cues and adjust her behavior. Outside, she has a playful spirit, but indoors, she's a mellow housemate, content with lounging and snoozing. Michelle has a soft spot for children and has been loving and sweet with those 8 and older. However, due to her excitable jumping, a home with kids 12+ or patient, dog-savvy teens would be ideal.
Ideal Home
Michelle would thrive in a home with another friendly dog. She needs a family that can provide her with love, structure, and plenty of playtime. She would do well in an apartment or urban setting as long as she receives consistent exercise and enrichment. A secure yard or diligent leash walks are a must, as she is an escape artist who can scale fences.
Ongoing Health
Michelle is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Michelle is fully housebroken and crate trained. She's a quick learner, especially when motivated by food, but she can be a little sneaky with snacks, so she's fed separately. She responds well to redirection. While she walks fairly well on leash, she tends to pull, and continued leash training will help her improve. She also loves to chew, especially on outdoor finds, so supervision and crate time when unsupervised are important.
