Rex is a joyful, playful, and energetic Cattle Dog mix who is approximately 3 years old and weighs 35 lbs. He was rescued as a puppy and has spent his time growing up in a shelter, patiently waiting for his forever family. Rex is sweet and enjoys being near his people without being overly clingy. He has a fun personality and is always ready for playtime, exploration, and new adventures. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and people. Rex is also intelligent and eager to learn. He walks well on a leash and is crate trained. His mom was rescued from the streets and gave birth to Rex and his littermates. Rex is the only one left from his litter still searching for a home. After growing up in a shelter, Rex is ready for a family to provide him with structure, patience, love, and an active lifestyle.
Ideal Home
An active and loving family that enjoys outdoor activities like running, hiking, and including him in everyday adventures. A home with a fenced backyard is preferred. Families should have an open conscience about the needs of rescued animals and be willing to give a rescued pet at least 3 months to show their best personality. Experience in dog behavior and training is beneficial, as is a high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies.
Ongoing Health
Rex has a comprehensive health protocol including a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, a 4DX test and certificate, a negative heartworm test certificate, and monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive protection for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. He also has a health certificate and vaccine booklet, and is microchipped.
Training & Support
Rex is crate trained and walks well on a leash. However, he is NOT house trained. The organization understands that house-training every pet is an immense task due to the volume of animals in foster care.

- A virtual meet and greet will be arranged.
- A trial adoption period will follow if all parties agree it's a good fit.
- The adoption fee is finalized prior to transport and includes spay/neuter, vaccinations (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), deworming, one month of preventive flea, tick, and heartworm treatment (Nexgard), and a health certificate.
Transporation
Rex is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on an across-country trip. A transport fee of $400.00, paid by the adopter prior to departure, covers delivery to the adopter's home address.
