Zac is a 5-year-old, neutered male Anatolian Shepherd mix who weighs about 60 pounds. He's a loyal and loving companion with a wonderful balance of playful energy and cuddly relaxation. Rescued from a county shelter, Zac needed FHO surgery on a back leg due to an untreated injury, but he has fully healed and is doing great with no ongoing medical needs or medications. He enjoys spending time with other dogs of all sizes and is respectful during play. On walks, he remains calm and doesn't react to other dogs, making him a pleasure to be around. Inside the home, Zac is a low-energy dog who loves to be near his people, enjoying affection and gentle pets. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and even comes when called for a treat. Zac is a bit of a conversationalist, especially if dinner is late, and has a charming, vocal personality that will surely bring smiles. He's made good progress with meeting new people and is comfortable in the car. He enjoys toys and treats and has not shown any signs of resource guarding. While he hasn't lived with young children, his foster believes he would do well with a family who can help him learn not to jump when excited.
Ideal Home
Zac thrives on companionship and would do best in a home where he won't be left alone for long periods. He seems happiest when he has another dog around or his people are nearby to share life with.
Ongoing Health
Zac has fully recovered from FHO surgery and requires no further medical intervention or medication.
Training & Support
Zac is house-trained and crate-trained. While he has done well meeting new people, his foster suggests a family willing to continue teaching him not to jump up when excited.
