Daffy is a 2-year-old, 65-pound, neutered male Plott Hound Mix who is ready to bring joy and excitement to his new family! He's a resilient boy with a heartwarming story, rescued from the euthanasia list at BARC in Houston, Texas, just in the nick of time. Thanks to Dizzy Dog Animal Rescue and his incredible foster mom, Daffy got his second chance at life and is now looking for his furever home. This fun-loving, playful guy thrives on activity and companionship, and he absolutely adores playing with other dogs! He even attends doggy daycare, where he's made the honor roll!
Ideal Home
Daffy would do best in a home with other playful dogs and an active family who can match his energy. Because of his size and exuberance, he'd be a better fit for a home with children over 10, as he sometimes forgets his own strength when he gets excited.

Daffy is generally healthy and has no known ongoing health conditions.
Training & Support
Daffy is fully house-trained and crate-trained, and he uses his crate as his safe space for meals. He knows his name and comes when called. He enjoys playing catch and spending time with his people. Like any young dog, Daffy has some quirks he's working on. He's still learning leash manners and tends to pull and zigzag, but he's eager to learn with guidance. When left unsupervised, Daffy may "relocate" household items to the yard, so crating him is recommended while you're away. With patience and training, he'll continue to grow into the wonderful companion he's meant to be.
