Wes is sunshine in dog form, with the perfect balance of social butterfly energy and goofy charm! He is estimated to be just over a year old and weighs around 51 lbs. While his breed is a best guess, he appears to be a lab/pittie mix with a happy-go-lucky, people-loving personality that shines through in everything he does. Wes is a dog who wakes up ready to enjoy life and wants to bring you along for the adventure! He has a warm, welcoming energy that makes him instantly lovable, leaning in for affection and making fast friends everywhere he goes. Wes is also wonderfully social with other dogs, friendly, playful, and knows how to mix and mingle, especially in a group setting. He would thrive with another medium-energy dog to play with, but will happily match a higher energy vibe. After playtime, Wes has a great off switch and is happy to settle down.
Ideal Home
Wes would do well in a home with a yard or an apartment, as long as his person enjoys getting out and about with him. He would absolutely shine as a go-everywhere, do-everything kind of dog for hikes, patio hangs, and neighborhood strolls. Because Wes can get a little vocal and likes to chat about things, apartment life isn't ideal for him. He would do best with a dog-savvy cat who can set boundaries, and ideally a home with another dog so he has an appropriate outlet for his playful side.
Ongoing Health
Wes is up-to-date on all vetting, including DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, flea prevention, and a 12-month heartworm preventative injectable. He has also been heartworm tested and treated if needed.
Training & Support
Wes is still growing out of his puppy enthusiasm on leash and can be a bit of a puller when he sees other dogs, not out of reactivity but excitement. He responds well to corrections and is very treat-motivated, so with consistency and snacks, he will polish up nicely. Wes loves his food and takes treats gently, even around other dogs, showing great manners in that sense.

Transportation
Wes is located in Texas and can be transported nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system. Drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
