About Smokey

Meet Smokey! This handsome 2-year-old, 56-pound neutered Lab mix is a bundle of fun and ready to find his forever home. He's fully vaccinated, microchipped, and up-to-date on all preventatives. Smokey is a playful, smart, and delightfully silly dog with a moderate energy level. He enjoys roughhousing with other dogs but is also great at settling down. He's friendly when meeting new dogs and would truly thrive with a confident, playful dog sibling to guide him. Smokey has been calm around children during their visits. He can be okay with cats, showing curiosity and sometimes initiating play, but he's also content to ignore them at other times. He's a social, happy guy who greets new people with a friendly bark when they approach his home.

Ideal Home

Smokey would do best in a moderately active home with a patient family. He would thrive with a confident, playful dog sibling to show him the ropes.

Ongoing Health

Smokey is up-to-date on vaccinations and preventatives.

Training & Support

Smokey is still learning basic commands and is a work in progress on leash, doing better with a harness but still needing patient training. He is not a fan of the crate but settles once inside. He should be crated when left alone for no longer than 9 hours, as he can be rambunctious and an escape artist. Smokey thinks almost everything might be edible, so keep an eye on what's within reach! He does not resource guard.
