Lane Boots the Snuggly Couch Dog

Lane Boots is ready for her forever snuggle buddy! This sweet girl is a master of couch cuddles and will happily spend all day with you, soaking up belly rubs and ear scratches. Lane is a loving, loyal, and always excited to see her people, making her the perfect best friend. It feels like you've known her forever the moment you meet her, and you'll be wanting her to be yours very soon!

Lane is a petite pocket pittie, weighing around 50 pounds, and is estimated to be about 2 years old. She's attentive, walks well on leash, and has excellent house manners, making her a true student of the perfect dog! We believe she's an American Pit Bull Terrier and Labrador mix, but as a rescue, these are our best guesses. One thing is for sure: she's 100% a good girl!

The first thing you'll notice about Lane are her striking heterochromatic eyes, one blue and one brown. The second thing you'll notice is that she's already in your lap, enjoying pets and giving kisses! She's incredibly warm and friendly with everyone she meets, a true lovebug. Lane would be a wonderful addition to any socially active household, large family, or group of friends – the more, the merrier! She absolutely adores children and spent a delightful afternoon with a 5-year-old, snuggling, playing dress-up, and enjoying treats. Lane would love to be a cherished family dog, content to simply relax with you, perhaps watching your favorite show on a stormy night or joining in on family game night.

When Lane is happy, she'll look up and smile, showing off her adorable little teefies in gratitude. She loves to be talked to and will stay right by your side as you walk around the yard. To ask for affection, she'll lean into you or sit down on walks and look up at you with a sweet request for pets.

Lane is well on her way to being an exceptional dog. She's motivated by food and affection, which will make training a joyful experience for both of you. She already knows "sit" and is working on "lay down" and "roll over." Lane is a quick learner, submissive, and respectful of rules. She's already very easy on leash and loves her walks, enjoying plenty of sniffing. She hasn't been bothered by passing cars at the rescue.

Lane prefers calmer dogs and does well with small dogs. She could be a great companion for a stable, relaxed dog sibling. She is also cat tolerant, though she finds kitties very interesting, so it's probably best if she doesn't live with them. However, she'll be respectful if she spots a cat across the street on a walk. Lane would love a home with a yard for sunbathing and plenty of couch space, her absolute favorite spot!

Lane would thrive in a home that enjoys her affectionate nature and provides plenty of opportunities for snuggles. A home with a yard for sunbathing and ample couch space is ideal. She adores children and would be happy in a busy household. While she is cat tolerant, it would be best for her not to live with cats.

Transportation

Lane is located in Texas and can be transported to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA or Brattleboro, VT). Transport is provided by the rescue via USDA licensed vehicles with 24/7 care. All adoptions within Texas must be picked up from Friendswood, TX.
