Michonne is a sweet and resilient bully mix, weighing over 50 pounds, who is now estimated to be around 6-8 years old. She arrived in our care in January 2020, after surviving on her own for many months on the streets of Indianapolis. Despite a tough start, Michonne has a puppy-like spirit and a deep longing to be loved and belong. She is a natural cuddler once she feels safe and trusts you, making her the best companion for napping, playing, or simply binge-watching your favorite shows. Michonne enjoys outdoor activities like walks, trails, and car rides, and her eagerness to please makes her a joy to be around. She has even gone fishing, boating, rafting, and traveled across the country, proving to be an excellent travel buddy. With proper introductions, she gets along well with dogs and cats. Michonne thrives on affirmations, nurturing, and acceptance, and her confidence mirrors that of her humans. All she truly wants is to feel safe and loved, and finally find her forever people.
Ideal Home
Michonne would do best in a home that acknowledges her past trauma with understanding and provides positive guidance, comfort, love, and discipline. She thrives with confident and nurturing individuals, as she mirrors their demeanor.
Ongoing Health
Michonne has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and tested for heartworm and Lyme disease, all with negative results. She is up-to-date on monthly prevention for heartworm, flea, and tick. She has also been dewormed and had a fecal test, both negative. All testing was completed within the last 6-12 months.
Training & Support
Training is an ongoing process for Michonne and should be addressed daily with rewards and attention to new opportunities. Her confidence will bloom with consistent positive reinforcement and a nurturing environment.

- A minimum of two meet-and-greets is required before adoption.

- Out-of-state adopters are welcome at their expense.

- No exchanges or requests for money are required before adoption.
- No payment plans available.
- For AHRS Former Adopters: No adoption fee is required; a donation of your choice is expected, encouraged, welcome, and appreciated.
- Tax-deductible minimum adoption donation fee of $255.
Transporation
Michonne is located in Indianapolis. Out-of-state adopters are welcome at their expense. We do NOT ship any adoptable pets.
