Meet Sandy! Sandy is a one-year-old Lab/Pit Bull mix with the most beautiful silvery-gray coat, an award-worthy smile, and a heart that is absolutely devoted to her people. If you're looking for a dog who wants to be part of the family, Sandy is your girl. She absolutely adores children and loves following them around, joining in playtime, and generally making herself part of every family activity. Sandy's favorite things include toys – she loves carrying them around, chewing on them, and playing fetch. She also gets the cutest zoomies, especially in the mornings when she's excited to start the day. Sandy is incredibly food motivated and will happily learn new skills for a tasty reward. She is a wonderful crate companion, settling quietly and doing well when crated. Sandy is also a great passenger in the car and is always ready for her next adventure, though she'd much rather spend time at home with her family. She enjoys the company of other dogs and seems to have a soft spot for smaller canine friends, reading social cues well and respecting boundaries. She has even lived around chickens and did well with them. Sandy is a sensitive soul who sometimes feels overwhelmed when she's the center of attention. While she absolutely loves affection, she appreciates relationships that develop at her pace. New people and direct attention can occasionally make her unsure, but once she understands you're a friend, her sweet personality shines through.
Ideal Home
Sandy would do best with a dog-savvy adopter who can help her continue building confidence and navigate new experiences. An ideal home would be with someone who appreciates that not all dogs show affection in exactly the same way, and Sandy prefers quality over quantity when it comes to attention. She thrives in a busy household where she can quietly observe, participate, and feel included without constant pressure. A home with a yard would likely suit her best, as she loves having space to play fetch, explore, and enjoy her surroundings. Sandy would do best with an adopter who can read her body language, respect her boundaries, and help her continue building confidence.
Ongoing Health
Sandy's health is excellent. She is up to date on all vetting, including DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, flea prevention, and a 12-month heartworm preventative injectable. She has also been tested for heartworms and does not require treatment.
Training & Support
Sandy is already crate trained and does very well when crated. She is also a great passenger in the car. With her food motivation, she is eager to learn new skills.
