Meet Frankie, a gentle soul with a big heart who's ready for his second chance. This 2.5-year-old, 70-pound neutered male American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull mix is a quiet, tender-hearted pup. At first, he may seem shy and reserved, but once he feels safe, his sweet and affectionate personality shines through. He isn't demanding of attention; instead, he quietly seeks comfort by simply being near someone he trusts. Frankie began his journey in a tough situation, found tied up outside with his sister, but he's slowly learning that the world can be kind and that humans are worth trusting.
Ideal Home
Frankie would thrive in a patient and understanding home that can help him continue to build confidence. A quieter household with a predictable routine will help him feel secure. He would likely do well in a calm home with older children who understand how to respect his boundaries, though he has not yet met cats or children. A securely fenced yard is a must, as Frankie is an escape artist and can climb some types of fencing.
Ongoing Health
Frankie is neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations. He has no known ongoing health conditions.
Training & Support
Frankie is house-trained and has no accidents indoors. He is also fine when left alone with free rein of a room. On leash, he is still learning and can be afraid, sometimes freezing or "pancaking." He is learning to wait his turn for treats and already understands simple cues. While he finds new doorways and thresholds intimidating, these moments are happening less often as he gains confidence. He enjoys the company of other dogs and would likely do well with a calm canine companion.
