Meet Vanna! Vanna is an approximately 4-year-old, spayed and vaccinated German Shepherd mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. She’s a playful, affectionate, and very much a “velcro dog” who loves being close to her people. Once she bonds with you, she’s happiest by your side, whether you’re relaxing at home or heading out for an adventure. Vanna has medium energy levels and would thrive in an active home. She loves playing fetch and going for walks, and she’s great in the car, making her a fun companion for outings. At home, she’s been trusted to free roam and isn’t destructive at all; she just wants to be near her favorite humans. Vanna is reserved with strangers at first but remains friendly and warms up with time. She hasn’t been around kids yet, but she may do well with older children (12+) who can respect her space and boundaries. Vanna is a loyal, loving companion who just needs the right home…one that can give her structure, reassurance, and plenty of affection. If you’re looking for a devoted best friend who will stick by your side through it all, Vanna may be your perfect match!
Ideal Home
Vanna would thrive in an active home. She is best suited as the only dog in the home, as she can be playful with very well-matched, larger dogs (around 90 lbs or more) only if there are no resources to guard or compete over, and she’s good at picking up cues when another dog is done playing. She’s not a fan of smaller dogs and can sometimes be reactive on leash depending on how other dogs behave toward her. She may do well with older children (12+) who can respect her space and boundaries. She does great with dog-savvy cats.
Ongoing Health
Vanna is spayed and vaccinated.
Training & Support
Vanna has experienced significant trauma and is actively working on negative behaviors around other dogs. She has some resource guarding issues with food, toys, and people, will need continued support with leash manners, and is still polishing up her potty training with the occasional accident. Vanna is also crate trained. Continued leash work and training will be important. With patience, consistency, and understanding, she has so much potential to continue growing.
