Rufus

My name is Rufus and I'm about 4 years old. I'm the longest resident dog here at the shelter, so you could say I'm the big man on campus! I might seem a little intimidating at first, but I promise I'm a big softie at heart and I'm working on showing everyone my true self. I'm a very smart boy – valedictorian smart! I know "sit," "paw," "lay down," "roll over," and "stay." I can hold my "stay" until released! I've recently discovered how much I love belly rubs and being brushed. I'm also working on my leash manners. I used to not be a fan of leashes, preferring to feel free, but I'm learning they're not so bad because they mean I get to go on walks! If you're interested in meeting me, come find me in the play area showing off my toy skills!

Rufus is looking for a home where he can continue to build his confidence and show off his smarts.

Ongoing Health

Rufus is up-to-date on his vaccinations and has been microchipped.

Training & Support

Rufus is working on leash training and would benefit from continued positive reinforcement and patience. He's a fast learner and eager to please!

Application Details:

• Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
• All dogs come with DHPP and Bordetella vaccines, microchipped, a current year dog license, and a certificate to be spayed or neutered.
• If it is an owner surrender dog, more vaccine information may be provided.
• You must be present to adopt and have a current approved adoption application.

Transporation

Rufus is currently at The Dog Shelter. We are open Monday thru Friday 10 AM-12:30 PM and 1 PM-4 PM, and Saturdays 10 AM to 2 PM.
