About Cowboy

Cowboy is a courageous 2-year-old who has overcome immense hardship. He was found abandoned, tied to a pole with a leash cutting into his neck, and suffering from severe lacerations, both fresh and old, indicating he had been used as a bait dog. Despite the trauma, Cowboy is now safe and receiving the care he needs. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and has begun treatment for heartworm. While he is cautious with other dogs, he is on his way to recovery and deserves a loving home.

Ideal Home

Cowboy may do best as an only dog where he can feel safe and secure. He takes time to warm up to men, so a patient and understanding home is essential.

Ongoing Health

Cowboy is heartworm positive but has already begun treatment and is on the path to recovery.

Training & Support

Cowboy will need patience and understanding as he continues to heal from his past traumas. Building trust, especially with men, will be a key part of his journey.
