Maverick is a loving 3.5-year-old estimated Retriever/Doberman mix who weighs 55 pounds and is currently fostered in San Antonio, Texas. Rescued from a county shelter euthanasia list, he is a gentle, loyal companion who enjoys being close to his people and relaxing by their side.

He is affectionate, calm indoors, and loves cuddling. Maverick enjoys squeaky and rope toys, sunbathing, leisurely walks, trails, and hikes. He is low to moderate energy and rides quietly in the car, though he may seek reassurance by resting his head against your arm.

Ideal Home

Maverick is friendly and social with other dogs, having lived with dogs and enjoyed boarding playgroups. He prefers peaceful companionship over rough play and does not need another dog to be happy. He previously lived with children and would do best with children 12 years and older who understand respectful interactions with dogs. He has no known history with cats, so a cat-free home or slow, thoughtful introductions are recommended.

A calm, loving home with a sunny yard, patio, or a comfortable couch would suit him well.

Ongoing Health

Maverick is neutered and vaccinated. His age and breed are estimates based on limited information and veterinary recommendations.

Training & Support

Maverick is fully house-trained and crate-trained. He walks beautifully on leash without pulling and is a calm, well-mannered indoor companion.
