Mason is a 6-month-old, 32-pound Miniature American Shepherd mix who arrived at our rescue on June 11th. He spent the first two months of his puppyhood in a concrete kennel at the county shelter, waiting for his chance at a happy life. Initially, everything was new and overwhelming for Mason. Leashes, crates, and dog beds were all unfamiliar, and he would submissively urinate when feeling worried, often rolling onto his back in hopes of kindness. Today, Mason is a much more confident pup! He happily goes into his crate for meals, has settled in wonderfully with the other dogs at the rescue, and is learning to come when called. He is eager to please and figure things out, and we know he'll make his new family incredibly proud. Mason's favorite things include playing with toys, splashing in the doggy pool, and wrestling with his foster friends. He loves to dunk himself in water on hot days before zooming around the yard until he's dry.
Ideal Home
Mason would thrive with someone who has experience with young dogs or is enthusiastic about continuing his training. A confident, playful canine companion would be a huge plus, as he is especially bonded with his best friend, Patty, and looks to her for reassurance. We'd love for him to have a similar relationship with another friendly dog in his forever home. Mason will need a securely fenced yard to safely burn off his puppy energy. While he would enjoy chasing a cat, we prefer he live in a cat-free home.

Mason is fully vetted and on monthly preventatives.
Training & Support
Mason is crate trained and house trained. He is also trustworthy when left out of his crate while his foster runs errands. More than anything, Mason is looking for a family willing to keep building the confidence he's worked so hard to find. He has come a long way from the scared little puppy he once was and is ready to discover how wonderful life can be with a loving family.

Transporation
Mason is currently located in our foster program. For out-of-state adopters, Mason can travel safely with one of our trusted transport partners. We adopt to multiple states to help each dog find the perfect forever home.
