Olivia is a beautiful 2-3 year old, 40lb female mix with a Weimaraner look. She was rescued in Saltillo, Mexico, in September 2023, after being found in a terrible condition and abandoned by her owners. Olivia was likely suffering from a spinal or hip injury and was left to fend for herself. Despite her past trauma, Olivia is a remarkably happy, affectionate, and funny dog who cherishes her new life. She is independent, playful, and full of joy, showing immense gratitude for her daily comforts and attention. Olivia loves everyone and is eager to share her boundless love and affection with her forever family.
Ideal Home
Olivia would do best as the only dog in the home. A fenced backyard is required. Families should have open minds about the needs of rescued animals and be prepared to offer protection and education. Prior experience with dog behavior and training is preferred, as is a high level of patience and tolerance for a rescued dog who is not yet house-trained.
Ongoing Health
Olivia is up-to-date on all her vaccinations, including DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella. She has been spayed/neutered, dewormed, and tested negative for heartworm. She is on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm preventative (Nexgard Spectra). She has a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Olivia is not house-trained. The rescue organization emphasizes that due to the large number of animals they care for, they are unable to house-train each one. New adopters will need to commit to ongoing training and patience to help Olivia adjust and learn.
