Posey may be tiny at just 6 pounds, but her heart is full of love waiting for the right person to unlock it. This 1-year-old Chihuahua mix has had a scary start, so she's looking for a patient adopter who understands that trust is earned, not rushed. Give her a little time, and you'll discover a devoted little shadow who simply wants to be close to the person she loves. Once Posey feels safe, her favorite place is curled up in your lap or snuggled beside you in bed. She'll happily follow you from room to room, content just to be near you. She isn't looking for grand adventures. A little time in the yard, a cozy spot on the couch, and the comfort of her person are all she really needs to be happy.
Ideal Home
Posey is timid and will thrive in a calm home with few visitors. We think an adults-only home, or one with respectful older teens, will allow her to continue building confidence at her own pace. Because Posey is fearful and may run if startled, a securely fenced yard is required to help keep her safe while she continues to blossom.
Ongoing Health
Posey has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
Training & Support
Posey is doing wonderfully in her crate and is almost fully house trained, making great progress every day. She gets along with dogs of all sizes. Watching Posey come out of her shell is incredibly rewarding. Every little tail wag, cuddle, and moment of trust feels like a gift. If you're willing to let this sweet girl set the pace, she'll repay your patience with quiet devotion and unconditional love. Sometimes the very best companions just need someone willing to believe in them.
