Boone

Meet Boone! This handsome adult beagle is ready to trade his past for a future filled with love and good times. Boone is a sock thief extraordinaire, often found proudly parading his pilfered prizes. He's a brave soul who has overcome a lot and is now eager to learn what a life of family, love, and companionship is all about.

Ideal Home

Boone would thrive in a home with a confident, dog sibling to share his days and fenced yard patrols. He needs a patient family who understands he can be startled by fast movements and loud noises. Because of this, he'd do best in a home without small children. Apartments are not suitable for Boone; he needs space to explore and sniff with his amazing beagle nose.

Ongoing Health

Boone is neutered and up to date on all his vetting. He does have a grade 3 heart murmur, which occasionally causes a cough, but he doesn't seem bothered by it. It is recommended to continue his raw food diet, as it has helped stabilize his digestion. Beagles from his previous situation have been prone to vaccine reactions, so he will need Benadryl 24 hours before and after vaccinations to prevent this.

Training & Support

Boone is a work in progress when it comes to housebreaking, but he is improving daily. He consistently goes potty outside but uses a belly band as he learns to be fully reliable with peeing outdoors. He is also working on leash walking and does well inside but can be startled by outdoor noises. Please do not crate Boone; he does wonderfully free-roaming the house.
