Daisy Sue, a two-year-old, 35-pound spayed female Pointer/Australian Cattle dog mix, is a bundle of joy and affection looking for her forever home! She was rescued from a county shelter after being returned, and we're so thrilled to give her a second chance at happiness. Daisy is a social butterfly with other dogs, enjoying playful romps and wrestling. She's great at reading social cues and politely backs off when a playmate is done. She's interacted well with dogs of all sizes and genders and often shows her friendly intentions by rolling over.
Daisy is an energetic pup who would thrive in an active home. Daily walks, playtime with another dog, or a securely fenced yard would make her very happy. She also enjoys keeping an eye on the yard and looking for squirrels. Despite her energy, Daisy settles nicely and is a fantastic work-from-home companion, happy to snooze nearby. She's fully house-trained, walks beautifully on leash without reactivity, is crate-trained, and doesn't have issues with resource guarding. Her food motivation makes training a breeze!
Daisy can be a little shy when meeting new people, especially men, and may bark or keep her distance initially. With patience, gentle voices, and some space, she warms up and reveals her cuddly, affectionate nature. She would do best in a calm home with a predictable routine rather than a busy household with lots of visitors.
Ideal Home
Daisy would thrive in a home that offers:
- Another friendly dog for companionship (strongly preferred)
- An active lifestyle with regular exercise or a yard
- Children 10 years or older who understand how to respect a shy dog
She can be left loose in the house when alone and is not destructive, but she does think shoes are fascinating!
Ongoing Health
No ongoing health concerns are mentioned in the description.
