About Tamera Honey The Sweetest Family Dog

If your dream dog is the kind that can't get close enough to you, the kind who melts into every pet, leans in for more, and turns affection into her full-time job... Tamera Honey is about to be your girl. She has that big, over-the-top, all-in kind of love that Shepherd people know and hope for. The kind that makes you laugh, makes you feel wanted, and somehow makes every interaction feel like the best part of her day. Tamera Honey is not only incredibly sweet, but she is also amazing with kids, dog friendly, respectful around cats, smart, and the list can go on and on. She's a special one, no doubt about that.

Tamera Honey is believed to be a German Shepherd mix, approximately 12 years old and currently weighs 58 lbs. While we can't guarantee her exact age or breed, her appearance strongly suggests some German Shepherd in her DNA. We'd love to find adopters with some German Shepherd experience who understand their fun, independent spirit and are ready for a loving, adventurous companion.

Ideal Home

Tamera would thrive in a semi-active home that enjoys neighborhood walks, a little adventure, and a whole lot of affection. She would be a wonderful companion for someone who loves to host, as she'll be the first to greet your guests. A quiet day at home is also perfect for her; she'll be happiest right there with you. An adventure buddy, she'd love to explore parks, nature trails, or local spots with you. A home with a backyard where she can stretch her legs, soak up the sunshine, and hang out alongside you would be ideal. Apartment living will not be a good fit for her. Tamera has been around children as young as 7 and handled it beautifully, showing gentleness, patience, and respect.

Ongoing Health

Tamera is a rescue dog, and while we cannot guarantee age or breed, she is believed to be around 12 years old.

Training & Support

Tamera is a smart girl, treat-motivated, and eager to please. She already knows how to sit, down, shake, spin, roll over, and speak! She walks fairly nicely on a leash, occasionally pulling out of excitement, but responds well to gentle reminders and is easy to refocus. She's also comfortable tandem walking with other dogs. Tamera is crate trained and potty trained. With consistency and a few treats, any additional training will be a fun and rewarding experience.

Tamera is dog friendly and has done great with all dogs introduced, though she prefers slightly slower introductions. She enjoys playful interactions that involve air play, nose boops, and chase games, preferring to bounce around and run alongside friends rather than constant wrestling. She will give subtle, respectful corrections if play gets too rough. She would do best with a moderately playful dog that enjoys a balance of playtime and downtime, but she doesn't require a canine companion to be fulfilled. Tamera was respectful and unbothered around the resident cat, Biggie, showing all the right signs for a potential feline housemate. We can arrange a meet-and-greet or sleepover to ensure a good fit if you have a cat.
