While she might start off a little shy, watching her blossom is like seeing a flower bloom in fast forward once she knows she's safe, she is all about the love! Wait until you see those velvet ears in motion! Wilma is the ultimate hang-out dog. She isn't looking to run a marathon; she'd much rather be your silent partner in crime while you fold laundry or catch up on your favorite shows. She prefers to stay close to her humans where it's warm and safe. Whether you're a homebody or a casual stroller, Wilma is just happy to be included in the plans! With rescues, it's always a fun guessing game, but we think our girl is a classic Pitbull mix! Wilma sports that iconic, adorable squishy girlie look complete with a velvety coat and those soulful eyes that we just can't get enough of. She's that just-right size for someone who wants a big-hearted dog without needing a giant SUV to transport her! Wilma is currently living the dream in a loving foster home and proving she is a total natural at being a pampered pet! She is a polite lady who is already crate trained and house trained, making her transition into her forever home a total breeze. She has shown us that she is wonderful with kiddos, responding to them with a gentle hand and a wagging tail. She's the kind of girl who just wants to do the right thing; she just needs a patient person to show her the way (and maybe a few treats for her hard work!).

Ideal Home

Wilma is looking for a home with a nice, secure yard where she can stretch her legs and sniff the grass in peace! Since she's a sensitive soul who is still perfecting her leash walking, having her own private outdoor space will help her feel like the confident queen she is meant to be. She's a quiet, observant girl who just wants a soft place to land and a human to tell her she's the best girl in the world (she absolutely is).

Training & Support

Wilma is already crate trained and house trained. She can become overwhelmed and forget her best manners when encountering other dogs in tight spaces, across the street, or in unexpected close encounters on leash. She may become focused, pull toward the other dog, or need extra guidance to stay on track. She will thrive with a confident handler who can provide structure, consistency, and clear direction. Wilma met a feline friend and, while she didn't give chase, she seems to think cats are very fascinating. She is willing to share her kingdom with a kitty, but will require a kitty sleepover as a trial run.

• The adoption fee is $1,200.00 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship).
• A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs.

Transporation

Wilma is located in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travels safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time, see photo updates, learn fun facts, and connect with fellow adopters and fosters through our private Facebook event page. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
