Kela is a sweet, easy-going girl who is just looking for the perfect spot to curl up and relax. This lovable couch potato is a gentle giant who enjoys the simpler things in life, like naps, belly rubs, and the occasional treat. While she might not win any marathons, she's the ideal companion for someone who loves quiet moments and cozy days in. Kela came into the rescue massively overweight at 146 lbs and has been on a weight loss journey since then, dropping down to about 95 lbs. She is calm, affectionate, and has a heart of gold. She’s a big fan of snuggling on the couch and basking in the love of her people. But don’t let her relaxed nature fool you—Kela is also up for adventures! She loves going on car rides, walking around the neighborhood, and having her own little outdoor adventures. She especially loves to be pet by the neighbors during her daily walks, which she expects after dinner and will follow you around until she gets them. Whether it’s a walk or just rolling down the windows for a breeze on a car ride, she’s always ready to share the experience with you. She is a dog that loves to be around her people and has a sassy side with a big princess personality mixed in with her lazy girl nature. Kela has been waiting a long time for this moment and is officially ready to find her forever home!
Ideal Home
Kela needs a home where she can be the only dog or live with a calm, quiet dog, as she thrives in peaceful environments and prefers a laid-back lifestyle. She does warm up to new dogs with calm personalities, and surprisingly, she LOVES puppies and is considered the "puppy whisperer"! She also needs a comfy couch to crash on after a day of fun and adventures, and a family or individual who loves to spend time with her, whether it’s taking her on car rides, going for walks, or simply relaxing together.
Ongoing Health
Kela’s heartworm treatment has been completed. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and prevention.
Training & Support
Kela is fully potty trained and is not destructive when left alone. She will need to be walked daily to continue her weight loss; she especially looks forward to her daily walks after dinner.
