About Skittles **Foster / Foster-to-Adopt Needed**

Skittles

Shepherd / Chihuahua mix (probably?) · Puppy · California → New York City

We'll be honest — we didn't see Skittles coming. She's an unexpected arrival, hustled out of a shady situation on the streets of Tijuana by someone who knew she deserved better, and now — with the help of a wonderfully generous flight chaperone — she's touching down at LaGuardia this Sunday, July 5, ready to taste everything New York City has to offer.

Look at her. Those eyes. Those ears — ears that have no business being that expressive on a puppy that small, and yet here we are. She's been described as well-behaved, wonderfully friendly, and playful in the best puppy way, which means she is going to make someone's summer completely unforgettable.

We'll be upfront about the things we don't know: we can't tell you exactly what she'll grow into, and we can't say with certainty what she's made of — other than Chihuahua energy, those ears, and what appears to be pure, concentrated charm. What we can tell you is that she is currently wearing a bandana that says "Somebody Loves Me" and she is not wrong.

Skittles is eligible for foster-to-adopt — which means you can bring her home this long weekend and let her make the case for herself. Spoiler: it won't take long. If you've ever thought about adding a puppy to your life, a holiday weekend with nowhere to be and a brand new little sidekick is genuinely the best possible way to start. From Tijuana to the city that never sleeps — Skittles is ready. Are you?

Note: No additional photos, video or information about Skittles is available at this time. Learn more about the foster-to-adopt program.

Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella, heartworm negative, microchipped and spayed/neutered. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

To apply for Skittles, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for a foster application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available.

If placed outside of the 5 boroughs, must be willing to transport Pixie back to NYC for veterinary care and/or adoption events.

Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue.
