Meet Daisy! This sweet girl is a bundle of love and energy, ready to find her forever family. Daisy was born into a foster home after her mom was rescued from a shelter. She made her way to RAD and found a loving home, but has now returned and is looking for her perfect match. Daisy is a happy, young dog with a zest for life! She thrives on outdoor adventures, especially in wooded areas where she can explore to her heart's content. She's a big fan of fetch and will happily entertain herself with a stick if a ball isn't available. Daisy is a smart cookie and is very motivated by food, which will make training a breeze, especially when it comes to redirecting her playful chewing to appropriate toys. To be her happiest, Daisy needs plenty of mental stimulation and exercise. When her needs are met, she truly shines!
Ideal Home
Daisy would be happiest in a home outside of the city with plenty of space for her to run and play. An active family who enjoys outdoor adventures will be a perfect fit for her. Daisy is a bit of a bulldozer and not always graceful, so she wouldn't be the best fit for homes with very young children. While she can do well with medium to larger dogs, Daisy is too rough for smaller dogs.
Ongoing Health
Daisy is a healthy girl, but she does need to lose about 10-15 pounds, so a little extra exercise will be beneficial for her overall well-being.
Training & Support
Daisy can get creative with her chewing if she doesn't have appropriate outlets, so providing her with plenty of chew toys and training will be key. She can also show frustration and pull on leash when she sees other dogs, so her new family will need to be committed to working on her leash reactivity and building her confidence. Mental stimulation and exercise are crucial for her to be her best self and to prevent stress-related behaviors like panting and pacing.
