Elmo

Elmo is a 10-month-old Great Pyrenees mix with a heart of gold and a spirit that shines despite a past injury. He came to us after being shot in the hip, with a bullet lodged near his spine. After thorough evaluation by specialists, it's been determined that the bullet is encapsulated and removing it would be far riskier than leaving it be. The wonderful news is that this condition won't define Elmo's future; he's healthy, comfortable, and expected to live a long, happy life!

Ideal Home

Elmo would do best in a home that understands his need to skip the extreme sports for now. While he's a normal, joyful dog who loves walks, people, and his canine friends, he doesn't need to be an adventure athlete to be a wonderful companion. He would thrive in a home with kids over 10 or sturdy kids who are old enough to understand that Elmo is not a pony, especially given his medical history. He has shown mild interest in cats, so dog-savvy cats might be okay.

Ongoing Health

Elmo has a bullet lodged near his spine, which has become encapsulated. Specialists have confirmed it is safe to leave it in place and that it does not impact his health or quality of life. He is expected to live a long and happy life.

Elmo is a sweet, resilient, and quietly brave young dog. He greets the world with trust and calm, even after all he's been through. He is ready for a safe home with soft beds and an ample supply of snacks.
