Bear Buddy Heart is a handsome, approximately 1-year-old, 60lb pittie mix with a big presence and an even bigger personality! He's a confident, people-loving boy who greets the world with enthusiasm and curiosity. Bear is eager to learn and responsive, especially with his treat motivation, which makes him a joy to train. He shines brightest with his people skills, seeking out connection in a warm, easy way and happily joining in on activities or simply lounging nearby. Bear is already house and crate trained, making his transition into a new home even smoother!
Ideal Home
Bear would do well with a confident, calm, larger female dog who won't be overwhelmed by his size or playful energy. He has shown signs that he could live peacefully with a dog-savvy, confident cat, but slow introductions would be essential. Bear is active and engaged without being overly hyper, thriving in a home that can provide regular exercise, mental stimulation, and ongoing training.

Training & Support
As Bear is still experiencing many new things for the first time, he is a work in progress. He will need continued guidance on leash as he learns to manage his excitement around other dogs, though he does respond well to clear, consistent handling. While he can sometimes be a bit too pushy in play with other dogs, he shows respect once he gets to know them and has lived with a chihuahua who clearly communicated her boundaries, which he honored. With structure, proper introductions, and the right dog match, he will be a wonderfully fun playmate. Bear loves enrichment puzzles, which are great for his mental stimulation.

We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, with drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada. You can track their journey in real time and receive photo updates. Canadian adopters can pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
