Maggie

Maggie is an 8-year-old spayed female Border Collie who is looking for her forever home! She is a highly affectionate dog who loves to be close to her human, always ready for direction or a good snuggle on the couch. Maggie is a smart cookie who loves to learn and has mastered many commands like sit, down, stay, heel, come, place, roll over, shake, and play dead. She also enjoys a good game of fetch and going for long walks or hikes. Despite her energy, she also knows how to relax and is happy to chill in her bed.

Ideal Home

Maggie would thrive in a calm household where she can be the center of attention. She would prefer to be the only pet in the home, though she may do well with a very calm, neutral dog or a dog-savvy cat after a structured introduction. Older, calm children would also be suitable. She's not a fan of dog parks or dog beaches but would love to go on trips to the park for fetch and accompany you on daily adventures.

Ongoing Health

Maggie is up-to-date on all vaccinations, fecal testing, routine lab work, and dental cleaning. She has no significant health problems, though she does have a small, benign lipoma on her ribs that does not require treatment.

Training & Support

Maggie has been in training for months to help with herding behaviors on leash and now walks politely. While she rarely displays herding postures towards other animals anymore, it might occur in unfamiliar environments or close quarters. Her trainer is willing to provide continued support to ensure a smooth transition and ongoing success with her training.
