Hello there! My name is Shirley and I'm a small but mighty gal with the most captivating eyes that change color with the light – sometimes amber, sometimes blue, sometimes green! My back paws look like they've been dipped in white paint, and I'm a bit smaller than my sister, but don't let that fool you, I'm full of personality! My sister and I were rescued from a tough situation in southern Minnesota and have since been living the good life in a loving foster home. I'm a work in progress with potty training, but I'm a champion at using bells to let you know when I need to go out! I'm also a pro at kennel training and sleep soundly through the night with some cozy blankets and classical music. I'm learning "sit" and "stay," but I get so excited, it's a little tricky sometimes! I haven't had any formal training yet, but I'd love to join a puppy class to play with other pups. I absolutely adore food and affection from my humans, and I'm eager to learn new tricks for tasty rewards. I live with two wonderful human siblings, a 12-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy, and I think they love me as much as I love them! I've also met several tiny humans and get just as excited to meet them as they are to meet me. I haven't met any cats yet. In my foster home, I have a sister named Laverne and two resident dog siblings, Blanche (a 6-year-old Pitbull/Boxer mix who enjoys her alone time) and Stanley (a 3-year-old Weimaraner/Pitbull mix who loves to play with puppies). I tend to be more dominant with my sister and more submissive with Blanche and Stanley. We love to race for toys, play tug-of-war, and chase tennis balls. I also love to cuddle with any dog or human who will let me! I'm a perfect blend of spunk, sass, playfulness, and love, and I especially love to snuggle up close to my human. My dream day involves a lot of time with my human – eating, napping, playing, and snoozing! I'm a bit like Shirley from the old TV show, sweet but I can stand up for myself when needed. Bones and tennis balls are my favorites, but I enjoy all toys! I like a good mix of cuddles and snoozes, with a little more emphasis on the snoozes because a girl needs her beauty sleep! My tail wags the hardest when my humans come home or when I'm waiting for my food – I might even bark to speed things up!
