Please meet Butterball! This incredibly sweet boy thrives on being close to his person and is happiest when curled up in your lap or snuggled beside you at night. He's a champion cuddler who sleeps quietly through the night. While he enjoys playtime, he's not overly high-strung and is perfectly content relaxing and keeping you company. Butterball has a naturally funny, quirky side and isn't shy about showing it. His unique mannerisms and playful spirit make him an entertaining and lovable companion.
Butterball is very smart and eager to please. He learned the "sit" command in just one day, and with consistency, he has the potential to learn so much more! He comes when called, is not destructive, and is not a runner or escape artist. He bonds deeply with his human. He would benefit from a structured potty routine (currently uses belly bands due to marking) and continued positive reinforcement training, especially on walks.
Butterball currently lives in a condo with four other dogs and gets along well with them. He can be reactive to other dogs on walks, but he responds well to positive reinforcement and does best when walked solo rather than in a group. When with a pack, he may try to take on a "leader" or "enforcer" role. Butterball can coexist with cats, but it depends on the cat's personality. He enjoys play-chasing (not aggressive), so a confident or patient cat would be the best match. He has a gentle disposition and may do well in a home with respectful children.
Ideal Home
Butterball would thrive in a home that can offer consistent structure and routine, continued positive reinforcement training, plenty of affection and lap time, and patience as he works through minor habits like marking. He doesn't require a yard but would benefit from regular walks and guidance to build confidence and good leash manners.
