About Passion Fruit

Passion Fruit is a 6-year-old, 35-40 lb Bulldog mix with a personality as vibrant as her name! She's a unique blend of "sugar" and "spice," initially a bit reserved but blossoms into a cuddly companion once she trusts you. She loves to shadow her favorite humans, play with tough toys, and gnaw on bones. While she can get a bit mouthy and overzealous during play, a simple redirect usually does the trick. She's not mean, just needs guidance to learn how to play appropriately.

Ideal Home

Passion Fruit would do best in a home with teens or older. She is not a dog for homes with younger children due to her mouthy play style. She also prefers to be the only pet in the home and would like all your attention to herself. A home where someone is around for most of the day, or where arrangements can be made for mid-day potty breaks, is essential as she is not yet fully house-trained and can only be left alone for a maximum of 4 hours. She does not require a fenced yard, but will need an owner to supervise potty breaks outdoors.

Ongoing Health

Passion Fruit recently underwent heartworm treatment and will need a follow-up heartworm test in mid-July to confirm successful treatment.

Training & Support

Passion Fruit is not yet house-trained and will need consistent potty breaks and supervision. She is also not fully crate-trained, but is content in her crate when it's set up for easier cleanup. She can be mouthy and rough during play, so positive reinforcement and redirection will be key to teaching her gentler play manners.
