Meet Juice, a sweet, 4-year-old, 56 lb Black Mouth Cur mix with soulful eyes and a heart full of love to give. Juice, also known as Joey by his foster family, has been through a lot and is now searching for a calm, loving home where he can finally feel safe and be cherished. He adores quiet time with his person, often resting his head or paw on you as a special sign of affection. While he can be a bit shy with new people, slow and gentle introductions will help him build trust, revealing his deep loyalty and devotion.
Ideal Home
Juice would do best in a quiet home with soft-spoken, patient adults who understand that healing takes time. He needs a home without cats, as he is not cat-friendly and will chase them. He would be happiest as the only dog in the home, where he can receive all the attention.
Ongoing Health
Juice has shown some food aggression with other dogs, which has been managed well with stability and routine. He eats separately in his crate and may still guard high-value treats, but this is easily managed by respecting his boundaries.
Training & Support
Juice is still working on leash manners as he tends to pull when excited. Harsh corrections can make him cower, so patience and kindness are key. He is always crated when left alone due to a love for chewing, and he sleeps well in his crate at night. While he has had a few potty accidents, he does great in the car and is always ready for a ride, though he may need a little help getting in.
