About HARIBO

Haribo, born on January 8, 2022, is a handsome and goofy German Shepherd mix with a big personality. He was born into the rescue and, along with his sister Honor, has a congenital condition called Megaesophagus. This means his esophagus is a bit too large to move food efficiently to his stomach, so he eats a little differently. Haribo is a clever boy who knows how to get into his special "Bailey chair" for feedings all by himself, and he sits patiently for about 20 minutes afterward. He eats twice a day and enjoys Royal Canin. His condition is easily managed with a daily dose of Sildenafil, which is an inexpensive medication. Haribo walks well on a leash, loves playing fetch, and enjoys nudging your hand for pets. He's curious about ducks and squirrels but doesn't chase them. He lives harmoniously with other dogs and school-aged children in his foster home.

Ideal Home

Haribo would thrive in a home where his unique eating routine can be accommodated. He has shown he does well with other dogs and school-aged children.

Ongoing Health

Haribo has Megaesophagus, which is managed with a daily dose of Sildenafil (25 mg in the a.m. and p.m.). He is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped.

Training & Support

Haribo is described as a clever boy who has learned to use his Bailey chair independently. He enjoys walks and playing fetch.
