About Loki

Loki is a 6.5-month-old male Retriever/Pit Bull mix who currently weighs 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. He was rescued from a rural area outside of Houston with his mother and littermates. Loki is the fearless ringleader of his siblings, always the first to explore and eager to play. He's a confident and curious pup who loves to entertain. Loki is a climber and enjoys games of keep-away with his toys. He's also potty trained, though a few accidents may occur as he adjusts to a new home. While he can be a bit hesitant with new experiences, his curiosity usually wins out. He adores food and will happily nudge his way to the front of the treat line. After a day of play, Loki transforms into a cuddly lap dog who loves to snuggle. He's friendly towards people and other dogs and enjoys attention from children. Loki has some crate experience and is working on leash skills and basic obedience.

Ideal Home

Loki would thrive in a home that can provide ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued socialization. He would benefit from a home with another friendly, well-mannered dog to help him learn appropriate play and communication. Homes with someone not routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time are preferred.

Ongoing Health

Loki is a young, healthy puppy.

Training & Support

Loki is potty trained, but may have occasional accidents as he adjusts to a new routine. He is continuing to practice leash skills and basic obedience and is eager to learn. Ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice will help him thrive. Continued socialization with new people, places, sounds, and friendly dogs is important for building his confidence.
