Chance

Chance is a 4-5 year old male Basenji mix who was found living on the streets about three years ago. He's a smart, quirky, independent, and highly athletic boy who just wants to find his special forever home! Chance came to us as a stray, scared and wary of humans, but he has made incredible progress in his current foster home. He now asks for cuddles daily and is becoming more trusting and playful every day. He's a courageous dog who is learning to enjoy human interaction.

Ideal Home

Chance would thrive in a home with other dogs, a backyard with high fences, and a family that is committed to earning his trust. He is dog-friendly with proper introductions and has been observed to pick a canine bestie to shadow and adore. He is not generally dominant and will walk away if another dog wants his toys.

Ongoing Health

Chance is a healthy boy with no known ongoing health concerns.

Training & Support

Chance is potty and crate trained and should be crated when no human is home. He is food-motivated and can be guarded over food, preferring to eat in his crate with the door closed. He is learning to trust touch and requires patience and understanding. While he is not yet leash-trained, he has demonstrated good recall and has the potential to excel in activities like agility training once he is comfortable with a leash.
