About RODRIGO
If sunshine could wag its tail, it would be Rodrigo! This happy-go-lucky boy is equal parts comedian, sweetheart, and professional toy enthusiast. Rodrigo has a way of making everyone around him smile—whether it's his adorable head tilt when you're talking to him, his talent for occasionally tripping over his own four feet, or his goofy zoomies that seem to have a mind of their own. Despite his clumsy moments, Rodrigo is incredibly gentle with his foster dog sisters and enjoys playing respectfully with them. He's especially fond of anything that squeaks, so if you have a basket full of squeaky toys, you've already won his heart. Rodrigo is discovering that car rides aren't so scary after all, especially when his foster sisters come along for the adventure. He's a quick learner who is already picking up basic commands and genuinely enjoys learning. Bath time? Easy! He stands patiently and takes it all in stride. Recently neutered on June 26, Rodrigo is also house-trained and potty-trained, making the transition into his forever home that much easier. Rodrigo recently attended a community social event where he met a 5-year-old child and was gentle, calm, and respectful throughout the interaction. When he saw other dogs, he barked out of excitement because he wanted to say hello, but he showed no signs of aggression. He simply has an enthusiastic personality and is continuing to build confidence and good manners in new environments. Like many young, social dogs, Rodrigo is still learning that not everyone wants a giant hug! He sometimes greets new people by trying to jump up for affection because he loves making new friends. With consistency and positive reinforcement, he's making great progress. He's also working on leash manners around distractions and currently does best walking with a harness and a two-point connection, which helps set him up for success while he continues learning. Aggression is not noted; in his mind, he wants to play with the neighborhood deer and squirrels, while at home, he patiently watches them eat out of the feeder in his backyard, completely ignoring them. Rodrigo is the kind of dog who makes ordinary days feel extraordinary. His goofy antics will have you laughing, his sweet personality will melt your heart, and his eagerness to learn means he's only going to keep getting better. If you're looking for a joyful companion who's equal parts comedian, cuddle bug, and adventure buddy, Rodrigo is waiting to meet you. He doesn't need a perfect family—just one that will continue cheering him on as he grows into the amazing dog he's already becoming.
