Montana is a spirited 3-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog mix with a heart full of love and energy to spare! She's a smart and eager-to-please girl who is looking for a special someone to share her life with. Montana enjoys playing with other dogs and is curious about cats, though she can be a little too enthusiastic with smaller canine companions. She's getting the hang of leash manners and is doing wonderfully on walks, even when meeting new people on the trail. Montana rides well in the car and is happy to settle down while you enjoy your meal. She's intelligent and motivated by positive reinforcement, and with a leader who understands her breed's need for a "job," she'll truly blossom. She can be a bit mouthy when excited, and we're working on channeling that energy positively! Montana is also crate-trained and generally reliable with house training, though she did have a moment of crate-bed destruction on a stormy day when she couldn't get outside.
Ideal Home
Montana would thrive in a home with medium to large dogs and would do best with children ages 6 and up, as she can be shy initially. She needs an active household that can provide her with mental stimulation and a loving environment.
Ongoing Health
Montana is up-to-date on all her vaccines, is spayed, and microchipped.
Training & Support
Montana is intelligent and eager to please, but she does enjoy a good challenge! She will benefit from a leader who can provide clear guidance, positive reinforcement, and understand the need to keep her engaged and "working." We are actively working on her "mouthiness" when excited.
