Hello, I'm Pop! I have super soft fur and charming white markings on my nose. I'm a bundle of happiness and love to snuggle, especially near a warm oven! I adore the snow, and my fur is thicker and fuller than most pitties, perhaps hinting at some Border Collie in my ancestry. I arrived with my siblings from New Mexico and don't remember much from that time. I'm proud to say I'm potty trained and signal my needs by resting by the door. While I am kennel trained, I much prefer not to be confined, as I've discovered I can escape and tend to bark when inside. I don't get destructive when left alone, I just value my freedom. At night, I love to be close to my foster mom for warmth. I know "sit," "stay," "wait," and "come," and I'm working on "down" and "off." Food is a major motivator for me, especially peanut butter and yogurt! I'm learning to be gentle when receiving treats, with my foster mom patiently guiding me.
I've lived with a wonderful 10-year-old foster sister and her friends and am generally good with other dogs, even acting as an emotional support for my younger foster brother. I enjoy energetic play with my almost two-year-old, 55lb foster sister, and I'm learning to be gentle with my almost four-year-old, 96lb foster brother as he recovers from surgery. Wrestling, zoomies, and tug-of-war are some of my favorite activities with other dogs, and I also love neighborhood walks.
I'm smart, eager to learn, and want to be friends with everyone, though I may take a moment to warm up to new people, especially children. This "stranger-danger" can manifest as barking, but it's just my way of processing. Once I'm comfortable, I'm all about kisses! Because I'm still learning my manners, a family with older, dog-savvy children would be ideal. My dream day involves walks, playtime, naps, and snuggles. I'm like Puff the Magic Dragon, full of joy and ready for adventure! I love plush toys, hard chew toys, and anything for a good game of tug. Playtime is a must, with plenty of naps in between. What makes my tail wag the hardest is being let out of the kennel to party with my people!
Ideal Home
A family with older, dog-savvy children and another dog would be perfect for me. I also need to sleep in bed with my people.
